Now, what is the question of ‘right’ and ‘wrong?’ Can there be a right choice when the whole background, the entire environment itself is ‘wrong’ and ‘false?’ You have only one option, reject everything. Neither A nor B nor C nor D, nothing, reject everything. Then that which is indispensable will come to you. The right choice comes to you on its own, and you don’t have to pursue it. But the right cannot come to you till you are occupied with the ‘wrongs.’
First of all, reject the very center, don’t reject the food item. Reject the servant itself. When you rejected the servant, you rejected all the choices that the servant presents to you.
All the choices that come to you come from the mind. Reject them.
Question: How was the Ego created?
Acharya Prashant: Ego was not really ‘created.’ Ego is being created all the time.
Ego is a belief in ignorance and hence knowledge.
Consciousness is a ‘kite’ that feels it is flying freely. It does not know that it is being controlled by the Master, sitting deeper than its flight. The controller of all thoughts is the ‘deep mind,’ the ‘latent tendencies.’
Why do different people have different thoughts upon being subjected to the same stimulus? It is because their ‘deeper patterns’ are different, it is because their ‘deeper tendencies’ have been differently created.
What is it that determines our actions, our thoughts? What is it that determines the whole movement of activity that we see around? Whenever action happens from where does it arise?

The words of a Teacher must be listened in great attention and empathy; never take them literally.
You will always, otherwise, misinterpret.
What is the definition of adultery?
Adultery does not mean that you are hanging out with somebody else’s wife.
Adultery means that you are now taking something as a high priority and that something can never be God.
That is the real definition of adultery: To be disloyal to God.

We talk so much about observing one’s life.
Observing one’s life is not about scolding oneself or belittling oneself.
A lot of that happens in the name of observation.
You observe and you say, ‘Oh! I am such a rascal! I am so mean, so pity, so self-contained.’
No, observation is not that.
Observation is not only choiceless, it is also judgmentless.
You observe, you see; you do not say that because my observation is not tallying with my expectations so I will despise the observation itself.

You will never own up your mistakes.
You will be brought to a point where you will have no option but to see that you have been an idiot.
You will be left option-less.
Till the time you have an option, you will exercise it.
Till the time you have an option, you will only choose the ego because only the ego has options.
What else will you choose?
Willingly, it is never going to happen.
And those for whom it is happening willingly, it is not really happening.
If it is happening willingly for you, then it is not really happening.
Then it means that it is a part of your internal conspiracy.
Let work be celebration, let work be life.
You wake up, and you want to work.
You wake up, and you do not want to run away from work.
You wake up, and you want to straight away reach out to something.
Now work is holy, it is sacred.
It’s your breath, it’s your heartbeat.
Truth is the beginning and finality in which you are always located even when you are thinking that you are away from the Truth.
Truth is that which you are even when you are totally committed to the false.
Deep peace is what we are even when we are totally restless.
Complete understanding is what we are even when we are identified with ignorance.
You can never reach the Truth because you are never outside the Truth.
Home cannot be the destination. Home is where you always are.
You don’t have a choice there.
Inexorably, inevitably, you are there.
Ego will never directly choose freedom.
It will just choose more bondages as means towards freedom.
Ego plays a game of self-delusion.
It will cry aloud, ‘I want freedom’, and will determinedly latch on to bondages.
Whatever you will choose, you will choose just to escape from that which is worthy of being chosen.
Behind all our choices there is a deep desire to come to the end of choosing.
Behind every endeavour is a deep thirst to come to the end of all endeavours.
In that sense, the ego desperately wants to come to an end.
It is suicidal.
But it is not fearless enough to die.
So it just keeps hoping for a better future.
