How to know whether you are good at something? || Acharya Prashant (2014)

You are asking, “what to do?” Do that which dissolves you. How to choose people to be with? To whom should I relate? Who should be my partner and companion? That person, with whom you feel dissolved. Where there is relaxation and peace, where there is no need to keep thinking and calculating. That is the person who is right for you. Whether it’s a job, or wife, or house, there is one common way of coming to the right decision. See, whether the presence of that place or person or work, gives you peace and nothing else matters. And that’s why I am repeatedly saying, see whether it dissolves you.

One way to resist the change is to allow superficial change || Acharya Prashant (2016)

You are moving towards the new and now there can be no carrying of the old. Either the old will change along with you, or it will prevent you from changing. So you too, will remain a captive of the past and you will keep suffering. Nobody suffers more than somebody who is in this position. The truth is calling; yet you are not prepared to give up the past—and the past is not coming along with you to the truth. Now you are suffering. And, one suffers very badly in this situation.

Even in your darkest hour, the Truth shines in your heart || Acharya Prashant (2016)

So you may be A, you may be B, you may be C or the opposite of C, you are alright.

Even when you see the deepest flaws within yourself, never take yourself to be existentially a reject.

Had you been rejected by God, you would not have been there. Neither as a body nor as a consciousness and obviously not as understanding.

Have this deep rooted confidence, have this reasonless sureness that I am alright.

And that reasonless sureness enables you to shed all that which needs to be shed.

It is a little paradoxical, but take this-

‘Only when you have no resistance towards what you are, then you are able to change yourself fearlessly.’

~Acharya Prashant

It is possible to think without being lost in thought || Acharya Prashant (2016)

So, alright, the chair is there – the body is there, the whole series of experiences since childhood is there, the whole physical conditioning is there, all that is there—that is what I am calling as ‘your own’ personal chair. That is there, but when something important passes by, then you are immediately prepared to leave that chair.

And you are attentive, you are present. You know that when the call comes, then this chair has no value, even it is comfortable.

Seated in Reality, you feel no need to explain the Real || Acharya Prashant (2016)

Won’t you first want to check out the facts?
Or, would you rather live your life based on stories?
Whatever calls you is worthy of your attention. Honestly enquire, ‘what it is’.
That would enable one of two things – if it’s a worthy candidate to attract you,
your attraction to that thing would deepen, and if it’s unworthy, then the attraction would drop.
