How does Hinduism justify idol worship when Christianity and Islam forbid it? || Acharya Prashant

Hinduism has said: “All of this comes from the Truth. So where do I go to worship the Truth?

And having realised that all of this is sent by the Truth, I will worship all of it, without distinction. I will worship the tree, the animal, the stone, the leaf, the dung, the mountain, the air, the water, the hurricane, the man, the woman, the child, the old one.

Without exception, India has worshiped everything, because everything is coming from ‘there’ – the Truth.

The image of the so-called enlightened one makes one scared of enlightenment

The fact is, enlightenment is your nature. As you are sitting here, not busy with this and that, you are already enlightened. It depends totally on you whether you want to remain enlightened. Your freedom is immense; you may choose to give this up very soon. What you are getting a flavour of, right now, is nothing but pure enlightenment. And since enlightenment is so ordinary, you don’t want to believe that, “This is enlightenment!” Yes, this is enlightenment, nothing else is. But you will want to reach out for the stars and hence miss the earth.

In victory and in defeat, you are always a winner

I am great, irrespective of what I get or what I do not get. I might run in a race. If I win the race, I am great. And even if I lose the race, I am still great. My worth does not depend upon the medal that you give me. My worth is independent of the respect that you give me. Even if the world takes away everything it has given to me, I are still wonderful.
