When God is the Lover, to be kissed is to be killed || Acharya Prashant (2016)

God is a really finicky husband and autocratic father.

He gives you orders that you can never understand.

He gives you orders that are impossible to execute.

He’ll always tell you to do something that will put you in trouble.

“Don’t go home!”

He’ll never give you something that will make you feel warm and comfortable.

“Go out. Midnight. Dance there. Naked.”

Oh God! Where is the fire?

“No fire. Keep dancing and keep dancing to my tune.”

That kind of a fellow this
God is. What to do?

~ ACHARYA PRASHANT

Acharya Prashant on his book ‘The Lover you have been missing’

Real love is possible only with an immensity, an absolute totality, which is sometimes called as ‘God.’

You are attracted to that which is limited;
and you love that which is unlimited.

Your attraction to the unlimited is called love.

We all have that attraction to the unlimited.

Who is satisfied with small and ordinary and limited? Don’t we all have that urge to find something that is so absolute, so large, so relaxing, so immovable that we can quietly relax in the fold of ‘That’ like a baby? Sleep peacefully without a concern, without a worry.

That is the fundamental attraction: The mind wanting peace; the confused intellect wanting clarity.

These wants are love.

You are unnecessarily sad || Acharya Prashant (2016)

The work of the teacher is to show you that you are unnecessarily sad.

Both — that you are sad and that sadness is unnecessary;

that you are unnecessarily sad.
